Marketplace
On the Marketplace you trade equipment with other players. Payment is exclusively in
gems.
Unlocked from chapter 3, together with equipment.
Listing an offer
You list a piece from your inventory with a starting bid. If you like, you also set a buyout price. It must be higher than the starting bid.
These pieces cannot be listed:
- equipped pieces,
- pieces assigned to another one of your teams (for example team 2 or 3),
- locked pieces.
| Simultaneous own listings | Slots |
|---|---|
| Base | 8 |
| with Mebula Plus | 12 |
| from VIP 4 | +2 |
| from VIP 8 | another +2 |
| Duration | Fee factor |
|---|---|
| 6 hours | × 0.5 |
| 1 day | × 1 |
| 3 days | × 2 |
- Listing fee: 5 % of the asking price times the duration factor, at least 5 gems. The buyout price counts, or the starting bid if there is no buyout. The fee is due when listing and is forfeited whether the item sells or not. From VIP 6 you permanently pay only 3 %.
- Sales tax: 10 % of the hammer price, paid by the seller. Buying is free of fees.
- You can only withdraw a listing while no bid has come in.
The Marketplace is the game's biggest gem sink
Fee and tax are destroyed, not redistributed. Without that sink a free market would be pure reshuffling and the gem supply would only grow.
Bidding and buyout
- Every bid must exceed the current standing by at least 5 %.
- Bids lock your gems immediately. If you are outbid, you get them back right away. A bid you could no longer afford at the moment of the hammer therefore does not exist. A bid cannot be taken back.
- A bid in the last 2 minutes extends the auction by 2 minutes. Sniping gets you nowhere.
- A buyout ends the auction. The piece lands in your inventory right away and all previous bidders get their gems back. If you want to bid the buyout price or more, use the buyout directly.
- If an auction ends with bids, the highest bid wins. Without a bid the piece returns to your inventory and the listing fee stays lost. Either way you get mail.
The guide price and the price band
Every piece has a guide price calculated from its base data and the quality of the specific instance, not from actual sales. An average of market activity could be pulled upward by arranged sales.
An offer must sit between 20 % and 500 % of the guide price.
Why this bracket exists
Without a price band the Marketplace would be a suitcase of cash: a second account lists a worthless ring for 200,000 gems, the main account buys it, and there is your arbitrary transfer. The band is the actual barrier against real-money trading; the fee merely makes it additionally unattractive.
There is also a hard ceiling of 1,000,000 gems per price or bid.
House offers
So the market never runs dry, the Marketplace itself keeps at least 6 offers running. They behave like player offers but do not come from a real account.
